Back in September,
we reported on Janelle Monae's work with Kia Motors for their
Kia Soul Collective series.
As part of this work, they've released a track for free download. It's called "Come Alive (The War of the Roses)" and you can
download it from the Janelle Monae area of their site. It was produced by Nate Wonder, Chuck Lightning and Janelle Monae for Wondaland Productions, mixed by Chris Carmouche at Farmhouse Recording Studio and mastered by Bernie Grundman at Bernie Grundman Mastering LA.
You can now
vote for Janelle Monae in the "Left Field Woodie" category of the 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards.
According to Pollstar, they are dedicated to "honoring artists that have defined the college music scene over the past year." The show will air December 4 at 10 PM ET on mtvU.
According to a
press release, Janelle Monae will support Raphael Saadiq during selected dates of his "Kings Keep Marchin' Tour."
