Cleveland's The Plain Dealer newspaper put Machine Gun Kelly on the cover of today's Sunday edition. The profile written by John Soeder makes for an interesting read.

They discussed the flash mob that led to his arrest, the origins of the phrase "lace up" and his loyalty to Cleveland.

He opened up about drug abuse that he was able to put a stop to last year after his "musical crew" threatened to leave him. Recently, after some trouble that he declined to detail, he found himself on the phone with Bad Boy CEO Diddy and Interscope Geffen A&M Records Chairman Jimmy Iovine.

"'Quit playing with fire.' That was what they said to me," MGK told Soeder. "They said, 'Why do you always choose the dumbest [expletive] to play with? If you play with fire, you're going to get burned.' I guess I'm finally learning that."

Last week, the single cover for French Montana's "Pop That" was released. I was just on iTunes and noticed that, on that service, the single actually has a different cover. It is simply black with text - the girl has been removed.

It is possible that the cover was deemed inappropriate (either by the label or by particular stores), but that is unknown at this time. Amazon.com continues to sell the single with the original cover.

In a joint interview with Tech N9ne for DJ Whoo Kid, Machine Gun Kelly revealed that Twista will be a guest on his album, which he says will be out in August. Earlier this month, Bad Boy announced that the album would be out on July 10, but that date was quickly retracted.

The song with Twista will also feature Tech N9ne. Listen to the full interview below. Warning: parental advisory.

HOT 97's Peter Rosenberg, Cipha Sounds and Kay Foxx had Machine Gun Kelly on their show recently for a half hour long interview where they covered a number of topics. They discussed his ban from the Highline Ballroom, his stage presence, beef, his legal trouble and more. The video is below.

Among the more interesting things that MGK revealed was that the consistent trouble he's landed in, namely arrests, fights, lawsuits, being banned from 2 shows on the Hostile Takeover tour, had led Bad Boy to consider shelving his album and the rapper's management to discuss leaving him.

"I'm on like a 3 week and 4 days of sobriety of anger," he said. "I was about to basically be shelved by my label and my management was gonna leave because I have the worst attitude in the world."

"This is the first time I've really talked about it, but it got really serious. I almost got kicked off the tour. Me and Tech had a really great relationship, but I would be like beefing with other people on the tour. And then you think about it - if someone stepped at my best friend and came at him sideways and was doing all this stuff and was attacking my merch guy, I would be like, 'get this little guy out of here.' Tech was really fighting for me, which was crazy. Now that I look back, I'm like I can't believe I was that unappreciative."

Over the weekend, Complex reported that Machine Gun Kelly had been banned from performing when the Hostile Takeover Tour rolled into New York City for a June 17 show at Highline Ballroom.

Complex talked with the rapper, who expressed concern over how he is being received as a performer.

"I’m a huge lyricist, but I think people pay attention to me cutting myself on stage or getting in fights or climbing up on a balcony and hanging upside down and s*** like that, instead of focusing on me standing on top of people rapping every single word perfectly, [rapidly] and clearly," he said.

"I think I'm gonna start releasing more content, and start focusing on how I'm a bad motherf***** when I'm on the microphone," he continued. "I'm a bad motherf***** in real life too, but I'm gonna start focusing [more on my music] so it's like, 'Wow, this guy is doing more good than bad.' I think I was caught up in not trying to over-saturate the market, and let people pay attention to the beauty in my songwriting."

Last week, TMZ reported that Machine Gun Kelly had been sued by a security guard at a club in Florida. He claims that the rapper used a broken bottle to cut his finger open.

The suit stems from MGK's arrest in Florida in January for disorderly conduct. MGK's representatives did not respond to TMZ's request for comment.

Last week, Machine Gun Kelly revealed that he was given the opportunity to perform at the much hyped boxing match between Manny Pacquio and Timothy Bradley. According to his message, he turned it down because he already had a commitment: a concert in Cleveland.

He referenced this decision in the video below, alongside Josh Cribbs, who is a wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns football team. The topic of the clip is the alleged disloyalty of LeBron James to the city of Cleveland.

Yesterday, Diddy sent a pair of tweets that indicated that singer Megan Nicole had been signed to Bad Boy Records. The first tweet was a "shout out to the Bad Boy family," listing Nicole alongside Bad Boy artists Los, Cassie, French Montana, Red Cafe and Machine Gun Kelly. The second tweet was "TURN UP!," directed toward Nicole and ending with "#BADBOY2.0." Diddy and the label have been referring to the current Bad Boy roster as "Bad Boy 2.0."

This isn't the first I had heard of Nicole. In April, singer/songwriter Jack Knight said on Twitter that he was in the studio with Nicole and that she was a Bad Boy artist. I followed up with him to verify his statement and his response was to delete the tweet and tell me "no."

Earlier this month, songwriter/producer Angel Jerez mentioned Nicole, saying that he was in the studio working on a record for "Bad Boy's pop artist."

The 18 year old singer has developed a substantial following online, with over 100,000 followers on Twitter, 600,000 likes on Facebook and 900,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Requests for comment from both Bad Boy Records and Nicole's management team, sent this afternoon, were not immediately returned. If I hear something, we'll have an update.

Earlier today, I received an email from Bad Boy Records promoting the release of Machine Gun Kelly's "Invincible" music video and announcing that his debut album "Lace Up" would be released on July 10. I reported the release date they provided.

Shortly thereafter, MGK's manager Ashleigh Veverka retweeted me and saying that the story was "false." She told me that the date was incorrect. I contacted Bad Boy with Ms. Veverka's comments and, upon review, they now say that the date was sent in error and that they do not have a release date for the project.

Update: Bad Boy provided an incorrect release date. The project is without a date at this time.

Bad Boy Records announced today that Machine Gun Kelly's debut full length album, "Lace Up," will be out on July 10. Earlier this year, the rapper released his debut EP, "Half Naked & Almost Famous."

"Invincible" (featuring Ester Dean) will be included, alongside collaborations with Tech N9ne and DMX.

A week later, on July 17, Bad Boy will release French Montana's debut album, "Excuse My French."
