Yung Joc is featured on a new single from RL (of the group Next) called "We in the Club."
In an interview with BallerStatus.com, Yung Joc revealed that he has been released from Bad Boy Records/Block Entertainment.
BallerStatus.com: So what's going on with the whole label situation for you?
Yung Joc: I just got my release and one of the terms of the release was a defamation clause, so honestly, I can't really talk about it too much. I've been released, severed the business ties. May God bless them and their regime, but I'm doing my own thing now. ...
BallerStatus.com: Could you see yourself working with those guys again sometime in the future?
Yung Joc: Definitely. That's what the game is about man. You join forces, you disperse and somewhere down the line, it happens again. Either you bump heads or you join heads. You really just never know with it. I'm not going to yes, but I'm not going to say no. There could come a time when we all get over this and say "haha" and get a drink or two. It's all about how you go into things sometimes too; the level of respect is different. I felt as I grew as an artist, the level of respect for me as an artist dropped some between me and that regime. As a businessman and CEO, when I started becoming more successful, either I was seen as a threat or it just wasn't respected.
I have requested some form of confirmation from Bad Boy.
In the chopped up video clip included below, Yung Joc performs a medley of tracks at an Iowa City event recorded by Thisis50.
In the clip below, Yung Joc is interviewed by ThisIs50. He talks about why he gave the "Grind Flu" album away for free, his future projects and more. He gives the impression that he has already been released from Bad Boy and/or Block Entertainment. "Due to the terms of my release, I can't even talk about the brother," he said when asked about Diddy. "God bless him." I'm seeking further confirmation on this story.
On a bulletin sent from his MySpace, Yung Joc posted a link to a free download of "Faucet" (explicit) by Hotstylz featuring Joc. The song samples SWV's "Rain."
Yung Joc is featured on a new track from FDM called "Let Me Holla." Mario Winans says a few words at the start of the track, which seems to indicate that he produced the track and that it was written, or co-written, by RL of Next. Check out the clip below of them working on the song - this includes an appearance by former Hitmen producer Steven "Stevie J" Jordan. It has potential, for sure.
Yung Joc is featured on a track from J. One called "New Money." myspace.com/tharealjone appears to be his MySpace page. The track is not yet available on it.
In an interview with rolling out, Yung Joc says that he's pushing to be released from Bad Boy, saying he has "no hard feelings, once again, it's still no regrets, no regrets - it is what it is." He also discusses the release of "Grind Flu," his influences and more.
Thanks Mike for the tip.
On his Twitter, a link to a commercial for Yung Joc's "Grind Flu" album release was posted. Check it out. It was posted on TheGrindFlu YouTube channel, where it appears album tracks and, perhaps, more will be uploaded or are in the process of being uploaded.
Earlier today, the clean version of "Grind Flu", Yung Joc's freely available album was released. We covered the track listing and featured guests. On his Twitter, he has now posted a download link for the dirty version.
