Cheri Dennis will be performing at the Bulldog Bash on University Drive in Starkville, MS. It's a free concert and Cheri will be performing from 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM on September 8.

I've noticed that Cheri has continued to perform and "hang around." This leads me to believe that her album will be released this year, despite what some are saying. I hope it is, anyway. We'll have to see.

My copy of Cassie's debut just arrived and there is an insert in it with album release dates. Cheri Dennis appears to have been given a month again. That month is October. We'll see.

Many on the list have single hits and may not be as memorable. These concerts -- with very young audiences -- usually keep the music in the background, and the fans front and center. In other words, see and be seen.

From BET:

And your album, which comes out in October, is there a title for it yet?
We actually don’t have a title for the album. So at the end of the day, it will be self-titled. ...

What producers did you work with so far for this album?
Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, a lot of producers. Yogi, EZ Elpee, a lot of stuff going on.

Don't have a title? Self titled is the title! But, October is a long time away. Looking forward to it, either way.

Cheri did an interview with BallerStatus.net where she revealed some details about her album:

Ballerstatus.net: This new single "I Love You" is blowing up. Tell me about the new album and how you hook up with Jim Jones?

Cheri Dennis: This song is a real universal and infectious song, something everybody can relate too, which is why it was my first choice. It's not too heavy, a no brainer and the album is the same way. It's about love and relationships, but not real dark. No one's going to slit their wrists.

The Jim Jones thing came about because Jim Jones and Puffy have a relationship and he was around at the time at Daddy's House doing some stuff and it seemed like the smart thing to do. And he's a dope artist. We have Yung Joc on the remix and he is a sweetie pie and very talented artist. Ryan Leslie produced it and he's dope too. He did about three tracks on the album. My album is not a big change, it's hip-hop soul, but it's a refreshing voice and I think people need a change right now.

Ballerstatus.net: Who are some of the other producers and songwriters you worked with?

Cheri Dennis: I do write some of my own songs. Producers I worked with are Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins and Mario Winans -- some really dope producers and some known some unknown. For me, it's not about a name, it's about whether you're bringing the heat.

Ballerstatus.net: Are there any other features from hip-hop artists?

Cheri Dennis: No, other than Puff, Jim Jones and Yung Joc. It's really about the introduction of Cheri Dennis.
