Already nominated for Woodie of the Year, Machine Gun Kelly has also pulled hosting duties, as he will co-host the 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards with Tegan and Sara. The event is March 14 at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX.
In an an interview with Noisecreep, Machine Gun Kelly discussed the influence metal and punk music has had on him. He also revealed a collaboration that will appear on his upcoming mixtape, "Black Flag." It's a cover of Rise Against's "Swing Life Away" with vocals from Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens.
Earlier today, Machine Gun Kelly released a video for a new song, "Champions," which is labeled as featuring Puff Daddy because, according to the video description, they "needed Puff Daddy (not Diddy) to let the world know that EST 19XX... "We are the Champions"!'
Vibe notes that the song features the beat from the Roc-A-Fella Records' posse cut "Champions." On the record, MGK goes hard at The FADER and the visual includes a screenshot of an email allegedly sent by Matthew Schnipper, the editor-in-chief of the publication. The redacted screenshot includes this sentence: "It's difficult for me to foresee a time in which we will be featuring Machine Guy Kelly in the Fader."
An MP3 of the song will be released tomorrow. It will not be featured on the rapper's upcoming "Black Flag" mixtape.
