Sean John T-Shirt Design Allegedly Lifted from Yale Poster

In October, Yale Daily News and Co.Design both reported on allegations that a Sean John t-shirt featured a design that was taken from a poster that had been used for a symposium at the Yale School of Architecture in 2007.

There does not appear to have been an update to the story. So, a private settlement could have been made or, perhaps, they decided no legal action was necessary. At the time the story was fresh, Michael Bierut, who commissioned the design in question, said that it was unlikely that any such action would be taken.

Sean John Flagship Store on Fifth Avenue in New York Closes

In December, the Sean John flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York closed, according to Women's Wear Daily.

Follow up stories by CNN's The Marquee Blog and New York Magazine indicate that a spokesperson said that the store was closing because of "inadequate selling space." However, the company is looking for locations for stores in both New York and Los Angeles.

This follows a lawsuit filed in December of 2009 against the building's landlord. The company claimed that erected scaffolding has made the store front less attractive, having a meaningful and negative impact on sales.
