From the press release:
The Opening Gala for BLACK STYLE NOW will kick off New York's Fashion Week with a star-studded, black-carpet event on Friday, September 8, 2006, from 6:00pm to 11:00pm at the Museum of the City of New York, 1220 Fifth Avenue at 103rd Street. The exclusive celebration, in honor of the Museum of the City of New York's groundbreaking exploration of hip-hop style and the Black fashion revolution, is hosted by Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
As the first major American exhibition to explore Black fashion, BLACK STYLE NOW will feature examples of the attire, accessories, and looks that define contemporary fashion; including a strapless fuchsia, velvet gown worn by Lil' Kim to the 2005 Costume Institute Gala, an original wool-pinstripe suit worn by Sean 'Diddy' Combs to the 2006 CFDA Awards, and a custom-designed white and cranberry leather, monogrammed cap made for LL Cool J in the 1980's, to name a few. Opening on September 9, 2006, and running through February 19, 2007, the exhibition will present historic photos, video images and stylized vignettes to reveal how today's fashion is shaped by African-American style. Beyonce, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Russell Simmons, Sean 'Jay-Z' Carter, LL Cool J, Kanye West, Lil' Kim and Andre 3000 are among the celebrities whose influence will be documented in BLACK STYLE NOW.
You can now check out this track in our audio player. I like it.
You can listen to the entire album over at The Leak at MTV.com. Showstopper is missing the Yung Joc verse, though, so I'm not sure if it will make the album or not at this point. I liked the verse, myself.

From MTV News:
"She had her first television performance, and she had an all right performance," he said. "You could hear the nervousness in her voice. And to be honest, I kind of smiled at it, because it made me really appreciate what I really love about her: She's a regular person. And we, as artists, we sometimes get nervous. I told her it's like riding a bike: You're gonna fall down, you got to keep on getting on it. I'm with her through her development, and I have no questioning on her ability, on her singing ability. It just made me appreciate that she got nervous, and it was kind of cute to me, to be honest.
"It takes time when you're developing a new artist," he continued. "You can't be fickle. Some people are going to have good days and bad days. The thing about Bad Boy is, we're with our artists through all days. She's not an artist that has a problem with her vocals or singing. You've got to understand that success for her is coming out of nowhere. It's just so huge, and sometimes everybody handles it differently. So I'm quite sure she'll get over it. She's going to have to. That's part of being a recording artist, and sometimes it takes time. I don't care how many performances it is, I'm going to be with her until she gets it right."
According to Urban Connects, Cassie's SoundScan numbers for her first week were 100,374. Joc continues to hold strong with just a small drop, placing him at 39,240. If all goes (very) well, he should be over 600,000 next week.
According to Atlantic Records:
Catch Danity Kane perform their hit single 'Show Stopper' this Saturday, 8/19 on the Direct TV Show CD USA! Check local listings for time and channel.
Updating previous entries, Diddy apparently has some ideas for when Rooney comes to town:
"I am waiting to put a definite date in the diary for Wayne to come out and we're both working it around our busy lives," P Diddy told the Daily Star. "I'll close down Macy's and Barney's so his lovely lady can go shopping and Wayne can help me pick some girls for some of the videos I'm working on."
From Life Style Extra:
Diddy has had a 6 million necklace stolen from his Ibiza villa.
The rapper left the sland on Sunday evening (13.08.06), but during his stay he found one of his favourite pieces of jewellery had been swiped from his collection.
Can't be sure of the reliability, but there are a few small sites reporting that Kim Porter is pregnant with the couple's second child together (would be Diddy's 3rd and their 4th in all, as Porter has a child from a previous relationship, as well). Let's wait for some more official confirmation, though, before we go with this as being true. If it is, congratulations are in order, of course.
