According to Ross' camp, Rick has been close friends with Russell "Block" Spencer of Block Entertainment (the exec behind Boyz and Yung Joc) for years, and there has been talk about Rick officially being in Boyz N Da Hood. But no paperwork with Diddy or Ross' record label has been worked out, so everything is just done on love right now.
Boyz member Jody Breeze says that Ross is like a big brother to the group and will appear on Boyz's singles when they drop, but maintains that Ross is not an official member � just family doing a guest spot. Breeze also says to look for other guest spots from Lil Wayne and the Game when Boyz's next LP comes out in late 2006 or early 2007.
However it pans out, DJ Ideal and dem Boyz have put together a mixtape that heavily features Ross. For his part, Ross spells it out clearly in his rhymes: He's down with Block and the Boyz.

This is great to see. In the post, Ryan Leslie gives us a sneak peak at the Bad Boy Remix of Me & U. It features Diddy and at the end of the clip, you can hear Diddy rapping. Been a minute since Diddy picked up the mic and did that. Looking forward to it.
Of course, the Ryan Leslie/NextSelection remix can also be considered a Bad Boy Remix, being that he is a Bad Boy producer because that is the definition of a "Bad Boy Remix" (remix produced by a Bad Boy producer) as far as I know. Nonetheless, this is the one that will be branded as "Bad Boy Remix." Can't wait.

I've had a little time to listen to New Joc City now, so I thought I'd post up some quick thoughts. To keep it simple, I would say that a lot of the album just isn't my type of music or the type of music I would normally listen to. Nonetheless, there are some tracks in there that I like that have made it into my playlist. Those are New Joc City (Intro), It's Goin' Down, Do Ya Bad, I Know You See It and 1st Time. It's Goin' Down is my favorite at this point, I'd say.

Everybody wants to sign Rakim. In the past year, reports surfaced that Talib Kweli showed interest in signing Rakim Allah. While the legendary lyricist ultimately opted to launch his Raw Records, he admits to being courted by the BK emcee. "We was speaking to them [Blacksmith Entertainment] for a while, good people. They were also getting tracks for me. Their situation at Warner was one of the ones we were looking at," Ra told SOHH.com. Kwe wasn't the only one trying to add Ra to his roster. Word is a few heavy hitters approached the God prior to him signing to Aftermath Records. "Puff wanted to sign me before I went to Cali," Ra revealed. "Master P wanted me to sign No Limit East. But at that time I was more concentrating on my craft, and I figured getting with Dre I won't have to worry about the beats. I can just sit back and do what I have to do."
Even though he ended up with Aftermath, it's cool that he called him.
