Last Sunday, I mentioned a blog post by mix engineer Ken Lewis, who said that the Making the Band 4 guys were now called 826 Boys. In the post, I cautioned that it should be taken as an unconfirmed rumor.
In an entry just past midnight, much earlier today, Lewis posts that they are now going by the name, "Day 26". ConcreteLoop.com confirms this, citing a radio interview. I like this name better.
And I believe that I have figured out the meaning of these names. Again, the first name we heard was 826 Boys. It didn't mean much to me. Now, we hear Day 26. Day 26 made me think of an actual day of the month. 826... 8/26... August 26. August 26, 2025 was the day when the band was made - when the guys were picked. August 26, 2025 is 8/26/07. 826. Day 26. Makes sense.

On his blog, mix engineer Ken Lewis may have let slip the name of the Making the Band 4 band. He says:
keep a listen out for the new Making the Band group, "826 Boys", their new single, also serviced yesterday is called "Got Me Goin". They are 5 male R&B; singers who can flat out sing their $%^* off!
826 Boys? First reaction: it doesn't really strike me in a memorable, unique way. Also, I don't think it really fits the image they seem to be crafting, as far as the whole image they were crafting out. These are men, not boys, right? This is an unconfirmed report and I will follow up to see if I can confirm it. For now, regard it as a rumor.
The new single from the Making the Band 4 guys, "Got Me Going" will be released on iTunes on January 29, the day after the new season of Making the Band 4 premieres. You can listen to the track in our audio player. The single cover is below.
