Singersroom has an interview with Donnie Klang.
Singersroom: You mentioned that your beginning to create a brand, how would you sum up your sense of fashion?
Donnie: Its a pretty crazy because I have developed so much over the past year from rocking a hoody and sweat pants. Now I am more high fashion not only am I taking my style from New York but I am traveling internationally. I am even putting this into my music as far as trying to be innovative, staying fresh and staying a step ahead of whats out there now. For example, the song Stereo will represent that.
According to a bulletin from Donnie Klang's MySpace, he will be performing live on TRL this morning. The show starts at 11:00 AM ET.
He'll also be at Planet Hollywood in Times Square to place his hands in cement.
thisisswansea.co.uk has quotes from Donnie Klang on what it's like to work with Diddy.
... he's that inspirational, tough drill-sergeant, to say the least. But it's good. I'm glad to have him as a boss. He doesn't let us get comfortable in our positions. He demands perfection. He sits back at first and let you do what you do, and when it gets to a certain point, he'll step in. Sometimes he'll change the whole song, and scrap songs.
According to Target's website, they will have an exclusive edition of Donnie Klang's "Just a Rolling Stone" that features a "30-min. DVD of interviews and more." I'll try to get my hands on a copy to let you know what it contains.
For the past couple of days, I have been lisening to "Just a Rolling Stone" a lot, through MTV's The Leak. I have to say, I love the album. It's very, very solid. Donnie's great on it and the production is great.
My top 5 favorite tracks are:
1. "Take You There"
2. "Dr. Love"
3. "Which One"
4. "Hollywood Girl"
5. "My Idol"
I also like "Pick It Up," "Pretty Girls Cry," "Not a Love Song" and "Love in Stereo." But, even the other songs are listenable and the interludes are cool, as well. So, in other words, this is an album that I am comfortably listen to from front to back.
Donnie Klang's debut album will have a Circuit City exclusive bonus track. It's called "Beautiful Escape" and you can purchase this version of the album online on the Circuit City website.
Glenn Gamboa of Newsday has a great feature on Donnie Klang.
The most immediate track is the first single, "Take You There," featuring Combs, which gave Klang another out-of-body experience. "I had just finished the single after 20-something hours straight in the studio - I was exhausted - and I was in the car about halfway home to Long Island and Diddy calls and was like, 'Come back to the city, I want to test it out in clubs,'" Klang says. "So it's like 3 a.m. and I go back to the city and we go to this one spot and Jay-Z and Beyonc are in there, which was crazy. Diddy's playing the song on loop and then we went to the next spot. We were in the limo and he says, 'I want the video to be about this night and what happens after the clubs.'"
Of course, what Combs wants, Combs almost always gets. The video for "Take You There" is a night on the town with Klang and Combs - and too many young ladies to count. "When we did that video in March in Hollywood, it was just crazy," Klang says. "I remember being in elementary school watching all the Bad Boy videos. Now, not only am I in one, not only am I signed to Bad Boy, but Diddy is in my video. That's crazy."
