Jay Electronica's "The Ghost of Christopher Wallace" ( free download features the rapper on the first half of the cut and then Diddy continuing to talk on the rest of the record.
Some people like it, some people don't. With the exception of the random generalization of bloggers, I love that stuff and I've always loved Diddy's ad-libs. It seems like Jay Elect is a fan, too. He spoke with MTV News' Shaheem Reid about the record and how it came to be. Speaking in reference to Diddy talking on the record, this is what he said:
"I told him to. That's the Puff I love. That's the Puff I wanna hear. I grew up listening to Biggie records and all these other records. I hear both sides of the coin; some people like it, some people don't. He went long. We was supposed to go in the studio the next day with the engineer and only uses pieces. But I told him, 'Leave it all the way in.' I wanted it like that. A lot of times when I leave skits on there, it serves the same purpose. It's keeping the atmosphere and the energy."
MTV News' Shaheem Reid reports that Jay Electronica is a member of the Dream Team, joining Diddy, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Fabolous, Busta Rhymes, Red Cafe and Fat Joe.
As I mentioned on Thursday, Diddy will appear on tonight's episode of "On the Record" on Fuse, hosted by Tour. The show airs at 8 PM ET.
Tour told SOHH.com that one of the things Diddy will talk about is that "Last Train to Paris" may be the last album he plans to sell, hinting that the music industry may more widely embrace a free model that pushes fans toward merchandise and concert ticket sales.
Among other subjects, Diddy will also talk about haters (see the clip below, warming: vulgar) and why Biggie is the greatest rapper of all-time.
Rapper Q Da Kid has released the music video for "It Was All a Dream." The record features a light sample of Biggie (from "Juicy") on the chrous, which is sung by Dondria. Care of Q Da Kid's Twitter, you can also download the track for free.

Janelle Monae was recently interviewed by The Guardian, The Sun and Clash Magazine. Nothing particularly newsworthy, but something that I'm sure fans will enjoy.
